Abstract

This manuscript documents the creation and evaluation of a taxonomy for mobile health (m-health) evaluation. The taxonomy is created by collecting and analyzing documentation on m-health projects which is then used to generate descriptive categories by following a series of guidelines for creating a classification system of mobile health evaluations. Evaluation of the artifact is done through cluster analysis. Results from the design process and subsequent evaluations are then used to generate a series of guidelines for m-health evaluation. Contributions of this research are a taxonomy for m-health evaluation, empirical evaluation of the taxonomy and its dimensions and characteristics, and a series of guidelines for individuals working on evaluations in the field of m-health.

Keywords: Mobile health, Taxonomy development, Design science, Cluster analysis, Health analytics, Mobile technologies.
